Wes Cropper helps help students learn about digital tools and apps available for iPads and Android tablets. Students discover how to improve their work, and expand their creativity by applying principles of design using new digital media techniques.

Wes has most recently brought the joy of working with digital tools to students in Saturday workshops at the Hoffman Center in Manzanita, Oregon, and at Portland Community College campuses.

Wes Cropper has been immersed in the arts since childhood, growing up in rural northwestern Oregon. With an early fascination of every media form available, Wes pursued drawing and painting throughout his academic career, completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design at Portland State University. He built a strong design practice producing full color print for software manuals, compact disc packaging and magazine advertising.

Beginning in 2010, Wes began to explore moving images, 3D animation, video production, and web design. As he dabbled his thirst for knowledge led him to complete the Master of Fine Arts/New Media program at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

He now embraces the new media environment for academic discourse, for commercial application and for his own artistic expression. He teaches Drafting and Design, Visual Communications and Information Technology.

His work has been featured at the The Art Center in 2012 and 2016 “Around Oregon Annual” shows and in 2016, the “Imagine” Exhibition with Lorraine Richey and Jim Hockenhull.
