Accelerator residents are selected for professional and personal growth potential and an ability and willingness to contribute to a thriving creative community.

The Accelerator Residency runs for 10 weeks annually from January to March. Applicants are selected by a jury of artists and arts administrators based on their application and work samples.
This residency is designed to be an intensive program that pushes emerging creatives to improve their business planning and professional skills. Together, the accepted Residents, complete lectures, coursework, and consult with the experienced program director to plan and build the framework for their creative business.
An artist residency is often described as a set length of time for artists to work on a project, try new media, or research ideas. Frequently, they are in a new environment and in partnership with local organizations/communities. Residency programs can charge for the program while others may not cost anything or may require the artist to teach, lecture, or work in exchange. Others are able to provide room and board or a stipend to the artist. Each residency is valuable in its own way.
Our program differs from some residencies, but many of the main qualities remain. The Accelerator keeps the traditions of providing a new environment, resources, and a period of time to work on a project. In this case, the project is often starting a creative business. The environment is a supportive community and peer cohort and the resources provided are many but notably include personalized coaching and lessons related to business/professional development.

The Arts Center and Artist Accelerator Program work to subsidize artist costs through grants and individual donations. There are some partial scholarships available.

We seek enthusiastic and committed artists, creatives, and makers who are ready to dive into planning or their creative business! Applicants should consider a time commitment of 10+ hours/week towards the program. Creative business is a broad term and can include plans for gallery/exhibition, wholesale, teaching, online sales, and many others.
We encourage a diverse selection of artists to apply! Creatives, artists, and makers from historically excluded communities like creatives from rural communities, emerging artists, BIPOC communities, LGBTQIA+ communities, and self-taught makers.

We welcome applications in the following media: Illustration, Painting, 3D, Ceramics (up to ^6). We also accept applications in the Literary Arts, Writing, Dance, or Installation.

Marie McMahon | Painting
Marie McMahon is a painter based in Eugene, Oregon, who specializes in creating fine art commissions and gallery paintings. Marie’s work features expressive colors, dynamic brushwork, and a unique combination of abstract imagery and realism. Typically referencing flowers, animals, human forms, skyscapes, landscapes, and waterscapes, she aims to evoke the spirit of her subject matter through intuitive expression. Marie values the process of painting and experiencing what she sees. She completes most paintings in one sitting, capturing a fresh and singular experience. Marie aims for her work to enhance feelings of joy, well-being, and connection for customers and viewers.
Camila Godoy | Painting & Illustration
Camila Godoy is a Chilean artist living in Corvallis, Oregon, USA. She started her professional artistic journey in 2022 in Oregon. She teaches art classes focused on inclusiveness in watercolor, colored pencils, inks, and mixed media. Her artwork is joyful and playful and uses loose brushstrokes, vibrant colors, and effects like stains, splatters, and other tiny elements. Her creative process involves a harmonious combination of these pieces to paint flowers, animals, and faces with flowers for hair.
Camille Ainsworth | Fiber Arts
Camille Ainsworth is a fiber artist working and living in Albany, Oregon. A quilt-maker since 2001, Camille began making modern-day Japanese rice bags in 2022. Camille references her mental state at the time of making a piece through careful consideration of fabric combinations and textures. She is a daily practitioner of Sashiko thread hand stitching for panels in her modern-styled rice bags. Camille honors the sacredness of the traditional Japanese rice bags in her practice while drawing inspiration from the eccentric sculptural Kate Spade handbags and outfits of her teens.
