Jen Hernandez has over 15 years experience as an arts educator, including classroom teaching, community education for kids and adults, and art classes for all ages. She has an associates degree from Las Positas College (Livermore, CA) in early childhood education, a bachelor of arts from University of California Santa Cruz in History of Art and Visual Cultures, and has completed master’s work at University of Oregon in Arts Administration & Museum Studies. Jen has been an arts administrator for over 10 years, including the Arts Integration Director at The Arts Center from 2016 – 2020, where she created open community programming like 2nd Saturday Art Days, with an emphasis on creating access to the arts for all community members.

As an arts educator, Jen prioritizes learner experience over all else, and engages democratic popular education in all her classes and workshops, so that as students learn, she practices her own learning as well.
