The Around Oregon Annual exhibit celebrates the art and artists of Oregon.
The Around Oregon Annual exhibition is always exceptional. This year even more so. There was remarkable response and variety to offer to this year’s guest juror, V Maldonado.
V is the Department Head of Painting, Chief Diversity Officer, and Assistant Dean for Diversity/Inclusion and Ombudsman at Pacific Northwest College of Art. They are also an artist and freelance curator.
Selections of work by 30 artists were made from a pool of 102 submissions. V detected a trend in submissions related to the isolation experienced during the Covid-19 restrictions. They were inspired by the activism expressed in many of the artworks.
