Open Call for Mail Art
Location: Newport, OR
Opportunity Deadline: Wednesday, July 1, 2026
Free to Apply
About the Opportunity:
Who tells the American Story? Where have we been? Where are we going? What does the United States of America mean to you?
Send a postcard with your art and/or writing on the theme of the United States—past, present, future—in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Good, bad, hopes, regrets, pride, fears, memories, love…what comes up as you think about the United States of America today?
All viewpoints are welcome! Our goal is to provide a venue for people to express themselves openly. Postcards can be anonymous, and multiple submissions OK! Multi-page accordion formats are welcome as long as they fold up to 5″x7″ and can be hung clothesline-style (vertically folding looks best).
Participation is free!
This mail-art event is free and open to all. Postcards must be received by July 1 to be included in the physical exhibition July 3-5 in Newport, and online.
