About the Workshop

In the spirit of Día de los Muertos and in partnership with Jen Hernandez and the Corvallis Museum, TAC will host this Hojalatas workshop as part of the Día de los Muertos festivities leading up to the holiday. Craft your own emblem of community and creativity in this hojalata workshop. Hojalata art is made from thin sheets of tin that are pierced, hammered, and painted to create symbols and images. In this workshop, we’ll practice our folk art skills in resourceful creativity by using common household items to make our own hojalata.

**Due to the use of hand tools, this workshop is recommended for people who are able to safely use heavy tools like hammers and chisels. All children under 13 years old must be accompanied by a guardian or other responsible adult.
