Contemplating the Birds: A Guided Meditation
Tuesday, November 3rd· The Arts Center, 700 SW Madison Ave, 9:00 am (45 minutes)
Join us at TAC 700 for a unique experience in our current exhibition. 66 Birds/3 Degrees | Return to Life. Oregon State University Contemplative Studies Initiative’s Marigold Center, will lead guests on a Guided Meditation journey. We begin with the birds: their songs, their small bodies in flight, and the joy that arises when we simply listen. This 45-minute guided meditation opens into the wider more-than-human world, where we rest in the beauty of all the living and elemental world. No meditation experience is needed.
About the facilitator: Joseph Bailey is retired from Linn Bentom Community College and facilitates classes at the Marigold Center, including Forest Bathing: A Practice of Kinship. He brings more than fifty years of meditation and contemplative practice, along with a lifetime of engagement with the more-than-human world and with arts exploration and expression. His work includes Being Wholly Human, a body of work he created to assist people in weaving their personal journey with their relationship with others and the systems in which they live. RSVPs are encouraged. Please RSVP to Joseph: thestreamweaver@pm.me
