Mission
The Arts Center inspires creativity and contributes to community well-being through equitable access to and engagement with the visual arts. We collaborate to offer exhibitions, learning opportunities, artist development, and cultural events centered around art, artists and art enthusiasts in the greater Corvallis area.
In 2020, The Arts Center embarked on an organization-wide learning process, actively integrating justice, equity, and transparency into every aspect of our work. We welcome all who value our JET practices to help us shape a more equitable future for our organization and those we serve.
History
In the 1960s, grassroots efforts by artists, civic leaders, and university art departments led to the establishment of the Corvallis Arts Council, the state’s first arts council and the 27th in the United States. In 2008, we changed our name to The Arts Center to become inclusive of all people and groups seeking connection with the arts in the greater Corvallis area.
