Women in History: Helen Frankenthaler
Saturday, March 14, 2026 1:00 – 4:00 PM
In celebration of Women’s History Month, explore the art and influence of Helen Frankenthaler, one of the most significant artists in modern American art. As we create, we will also honor Frankenthaler’s groundbreaking career and reflect on how her innovation and perseverance helped open doors for women in the visual arts.
Known for her soak-stain technique, Frankenthaler poured diluted paint onto unprimed canvas to create glowing, atmospheric works that redefined abstraction. In this activity, participants will experiment with simplified methods to discover how color and movement can express emotion and form.
