Reverberation Song

A man talks about family
and music,
while his pieces on the walls
reverberate their silence—
push it outwards
to embed the sound of wood and clay
into the hollow space
where a gospel
must have once roared
Hallelujah.

In their silence they croon—
an echo of kiln,
a serration of blade
carving manipulation
into form,
the space they occupy
a deafening.

Curved wood.
Curved pots.
Curvature of earth and echo.
Reverberation song.

A man speaks
with clay and timber
to tell stories
without words,

I become silent too.
Let a listening happen.
