This workshop is designed to aid artists with the professional side of their art practice. Beginning with portfolio development and the professional packet, topics include best practices for writing artist statements, elevator pitches, exhibition opportunities and marketing strategies, artwork pricing techniques, and more.

Kerry Skarbakka is an artist/educator working in photography and video from Duluth, Minnesota. He received his B.A. in Studio Art (Sculpture) in 1994 from the University of Washington. In 2003, he completed his MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago. His performance-based photographic work depicting existential anxieties and loss of control through the acts of falling, drowning and fighting have been exhibited internationally. A 2005 Creative Capital Grantee, his work is held in such collections as the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, The North Carolina Museum of Art, The Corcoran Gallery of Art and The Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. 

Kerry Skarbakka lives in Corvallis, Oregon with his wife and son. He serves as an Assistant Professor of Photography at Oregon State University.
