Bio of Zi Li (Lily) Arts Center Intern during 2017
My name is Zi Li. You can call me Lily. I’m an international student from China. After studying Advertising in China for four years, I am interested in the arts, so come to the United States to study Arts and Cultural Management at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. After visiting Corvallis and The Arts Center a year ago, I applied to be an intern for them.
I love art, not only because my father is a calligrapher but also for art itself. Art is a platform that I can communicate my thoughts and attitudes with others, and others can share their perspectives with me. Art is for bridging gaps between people. It not only brings me the joy of aesthetics and entertainment but also broadens my horizons. My wish is that more people can feel what I feel about the arts, so I am using my marketing skills to promote art to people.
Corvallis is a beautiful place and has a vibrantly artistic atmosphere. At The Arts Center, the imagination of children and the creativity of artists inspire me a lot. I’m a photographer and singer. Also, I love painting, calligraphy, and playing guitar. I see myself as a storyteller to catch every piece of life and pass them to the next person. Looking forward to seeing you at The Arts Center and have you tell me your stories.
