Richard Behan photographs musicians at the Corvallis Farmers’ Market, which document the cultural significance of this community gathering. The Farmers’ Market is more than a market place to purchase plants and vegetables; for many area residents, it is a weekend ritual of strolling the booths and connecting with friends. The various stations of musicians are an important part of that mix. The musicians represent all kinds of styles and instruments:  jazz, fiddle, guitar, classical, vocalists, and more. The market would not have that same feel or attraction without these musicians.

To honor the music-makers, Behan has created a compilation of Farmers’ Market Music Maker portraits. The exhibit in the Corrine Woodman Gallery cannot accommodate all of the musicians at the market — to see all of them you must become a regular at the Farmers’ Market.
