The title “Seeing Inversely” refers to looking at things in an opposite manner. One artist is fascinated with microorganisms, while the other looks from further way to find a second meaning in what she observes.
Carol Chapel created collographs from what she sees through a microscope and even incorporates the circular motif of a lens in how she presents the work. She calls the series: Unseen World:
Vicky Hollenbeck composes her photographs in such a way as to render them to abstraction; her approach is associative. The isolated details in her images remind her of something that is materially far removed from the original object.
