About the Call:

The Benton County Historical Society invites artists of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experience levels to contribute original works for the exhibit “Strength, Struggle, Survival: A Community Response to 250 Years.”

In 2026, communities and cultural organizations across the country will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Throughout the year, many will reflect on what those 250 years have meant, and what they continue to mean today. This exhibit is one of the ways the Benton County Historical Society is marking the moment: by centering community voices and creative responses to the stories that have shaped our shared history.

Artists are invited to share their interpretation of themes of strength, struggle, and survival through original work in any medium. There are no specific size or medium requirements.
