About the Class
Join local artist Koa Tom to explore the creative possibilities of light and nature through UV light printing. In this hands-on class, students will use light-sensitive paper, sunlight, and found objects to create contact prints that capture shadows and shapes in surprising ways. They’ll also have the option to try out digital images taken with instant cameras provided in class. This class encourages patience, self-confidence, and experimentation, as students learn how to combine science and art in a playful, accessible process. Every print becomes a unique expression of the artist who made it.
About the Instructor
Koa A. Tom is a photographic artist, educator, and business-owner who specializes in blending analog and digital tools to create the images they desire in their own work as well as client work, and they share these skills with you. Koa’s artwork focuses on the continuum between people and the rest of nature. Similarly, Koa works to find how you connect with photography given the medium today.
